Poker Bonus Strategies
Listening to the word bonus brings a smile to our mind as it adds something without any cost.
The owners of the poker rooms use attractive bonuses to encourage you to join their establishment. The more established a poker room is, the smaller the bonus is, this is true for most poker rooms however there are at least 3 exceptions I know of (Absolute, FullTilt, UltimateBet). The casino rooms will also offer reload bonuses in order to encourage player retention, while some poker rooms offer player points that can be use to purchase high to low end merchandise.
In order to make the bonus work for you instead of the poker room you should adhere to some basic strategies. The main strategy is to loose no more than the bonus amount, in order to accomplish this you would be advised to take note of the following.
- Make sure you know that the bonus is your goal, winning money while you are clearing the bonus is an extra bonus.
- Stick to tight tables with at least 8 players.
- Play the tightest game you can.
- Stay away from tournaments while you are clearing your bonus.
- Stick to limit poker, stay away from no limit and pot limit.
- Don’t play if you are playing just to get in a few more games, make sure you are committed to playing the game correctly.
- Don’t play if you are tired.
- If it is possible, play more than 1 table at a time. If you have not done this before you should add new tables slowly. Adding extra tables is not that hard if you stick to tight poker as you will not be playing that many hands anyway.
